The Band of the 5th (BC) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery supports the Commander 39 Canadian Brigade Group in accomplishing his or her goal of enhancing the Army's presence throughout the province of British Columbia. The band is a highly visible element that serves as a tangible link between the military and the public through its musical support of military, governmental, and civilian functions in Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island. The Band of the 5th can appear as a concert band or a marching band, as well as provide smaller ensembles such as a mess dinner band, brass or woodwind quintet. It can offer musical support for military or public events, dances, public concerts, school concerts or fund-raising for registered Canadian non-profit organizations.

Anyone wishing to have the band support their event are requested to complete a "Request for Musical Support", and submit it via the address or fax number indicated therein, or to email the completed document as an attachment to bandofthe5th@gmail.com. A MS Word "fillable" version of this form may be downloaded here. A five (5) week lead time is usually the minimum required to permit the completion of the required administration.

You will note that reference is made to DAOD 5037-1 Canadian Forces Band Engagements and B-GS-055-000/AG-001 Provision of Services. Should any clause therein restrict or impact upon the band's ability to provide the requested support, the requesting organization will be duly notified.
